This photograph, probably from the 1950s, depicts Ernst Borinski, professor at Tougaloo College and a German-Jewish refugee, several children, and an adult next to Borinski, who is most likely the Reverend John Dee Mangram, at an annual Christmas party given for community children at Tougaloo College. The photograph shows that Borinski moved relatively comfortably in the African American and Christian communities of Tougaloo and its environs.
