  • Built by Vasari, Buontalenti and others 1561-1581 for Cosimo I and Francesco I. Housed magistracies, Teatro Mediceo, Guardaroba. Top floor with "Tribuna" (works of art) connected to Pal. Vecchio and Pal. Pitti through Vasari corridor of 1565. B94 Limb. 701 Piazzale Uffizi.

  • Connecting the Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti, built by Vasari for Cosimo I in 1565 for the marriage of Francesco I with Giovanna d' Austria. B46

  • 3 - Piazza del Grano
  • The grain market. New loggia built by G. B. Parigi 1619 for Cosimo II. Limb. 339 V. dei Neri.

  • 4 - Pal. Castellani-dei Giudici
  • Ancient palace of the Uberti and later Castellani sometimes call the Palazzo di Altafronte. Became the seat of the Ruota (civil court) ca. 1574. Thereafter called Pal. dei Giudici. B166 Limb. 322 Pza dei Giudici.

Square 60 had a moderate number of households, many shops, some patricians, many households with servants, some households w/o surnames and some households headed by widows."
