  • ca. 1356 Augustinian nuns; 1452 Franciscan nuns (di S. Chiara). [107 R 1551, 100 1632] B31 M/R 20 Paatz I:454 V. Serragli/V. S. Maria.

  • 2 - S. Elisabetta delle Convertite Con.
  • 1330 Augustinian nuns ("per quelle molte donne di mala vita che si convertono al bene"). Enlarged 17th cent. [65 R 1551, 239 1632] B41 M/R 28 Paatz II:30 V. Serragli 122.

  • 3 - S. Piero Martire Con. (Site)
  • Dominican nuns; transferred to S. Felice in Piazza (sq. 82) 1557 after building of the Cosimo I embankment destroyed their house. [43 R 1551] M/R 30 Paatz IV:658 V. Serragli No longer exists.

  • 4 - Casino Torrigiani
  • Land bought by the Torrigiani from 1531 for a garden and casino that was subsequently enlarged. G-L 131 V. Campuccio 53.

"Quarter: S. Spirito, Parish: S. Felice in Piazza, Streets: V S Chiara SS {p}, V S. Giovanni (V Campuccio {p}), V S. Maria {p}. Square 84 had a moderate number of households, few shops, some patricians, some households with servants, some households w/o surnames and some households headed by widows. This square was disrupted throug the building of the Cosimo I embankment in the 1540s."
