  • 1 - S. Maria del Carmine Mon.
  • 1268 Carmelite monks. New cloister 1600/12. Church rebuilt after a fire in 1771. [27 R 1551 50 1632] B40 M/R 15 Paatz III:188 Pza del Carmine.

  • 2 - S. Frediano Par. Con.
  • 11th cent. Par. Ch. Vallombrosian monks from ca. 1190, Cistercians 1216, Augustinian nuns from 1514. Damaged by flood of 1557, church and cloister restored. [ 72 R 1551, 69 1632] Parish transferred in 18th cent to S. Frediano in Cestello. B57 M/R 37 Paatz II:138 Pza del Carmine No longer exists.

  • 3 - S. Maria degli Angioli Con. - S. Frediano in Cestello Mon.
  • ca. 1450 Carmelite nuns. They moved to S. Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi in 1628 (Sq. 12) and were replaced by Cistercian monks for whom G. and P.F. Silvani rebuilt the cloister and Cerruti and Ferri built the new large domed church of S. Frediano in Cestello from 1698. [46 (women) R 1551, 29 (men) 1632] B91 M/R 38 Paatz II:145 Pza Cestello.

Square 74 had a moderate number of households, some shops, some patricians, some households with servants, some households w/o surnames and some households headed by widows. "
