1268 Carmelite monks. New cloister 1600/12. Church rebuilt after a fire in 1771. [27 R 1551 50 1632] B40 M/R 15 Paatz III:188 Pza del Carmine.
11th cent. Par. Ch. Vallombrosian monks from ca. 1190, Cistercians 1216, Augustinian nuns from 1514. Damaged by flood of 1557, church and cloister restored. [ 72 R 1551, 69 1632] Parish transferred in 18th cent to S. Frediano in Cestello. B57 M/R 37 Paatz II:138 Pza del Carmine No longer exists.
ca. 1450 Carmelite nuns. They moved to S. Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi in 1628 (Sq. 12) and were replaced by Cistercian monks for whom G. and P.F. Silvani rebuilt the cloister and Cerruti and Ferri built the new large domed church of S. Frediano in Cestello from 1698. [46 (women) R 1551, 29 (men) 1632] B91 M/R 38 Paatz II:145 Pza Cestello.
