Gift to Cosimo I from the Baths of Caracalla in Rome by Pope Pius IV 1560, erected 1565 to commemorate the Battle of Montemurlo (defeat of the fourusciti 1537). Porphyry statue of Justice at the top by Tadda added for Francesco I 1581 Pza S. Trinita.

Bought from the Ughi by Simone di Jacopo Corsi in 1560 who had it rebuilt [by Giambologna?]. Has a portrait bust of Duke Francesco I on the façade. Now called Pal. Del Circolo dell' Unione. G-L 16 V. Tornabuoni 7.

14th century palace of the Davizzi, bought by Bernardo Davanzati, a wealthy Florentine merchant at Lyons and man of letters, in 1578. G-L 11 Pza Davanzati.

Tall medieval houses of the Spini. The half facing Pza. S. Trinita was renovated internally by Geri Spini ca. 1606-11; after his death in 1651 it passed to the da Bagnano family who rebuilt the façade in baroque style; the medieval façade was restored ca. 1875. B161 G-L 4 V. Tornabuoni 2.

Houses confiscated by Cosimo I from Bindo Altoviti, occupied by the Marchese di Marignano (commander during the Sienese War), Don Giovanni de Medici, and other Medici princes. Bought by Maddalena Machiavelli nei Corsini in 1640. In 1650 Marchese Bartolommeo Corsini began construction of the palazzo by A. Parigi, F. Tacca, P. F. Silvani, A.
