Flyer, Trial of Hekima Ana, Republic of New Africa
Hekima Ana, Vice President of the Republic of New Africa (RNA), is the first of 11 RNA members to be tried for the fatal shooting of a white police officer during a police raid of the Mississippi RNA headquarters in August 1971. This flyer compares the prosecution of Hekima Ana to the crucifixion of Jesus. The RNA seeks local support for the release of the RNA 11. The strong relationship between religion and activism connected the different partsof the Freedom Movement.
