Flyer, Republic of New Africa , August 1972-1973

This flyer published by the Republic of New Africa (RNA) requests regular, voluntary pledges from supporters to help build new communities, farms, and industries for African-Americans in Mississippi. The flyer also describes the RNA plebiscite, an election in which RNA supporters could vote to be a free and independent nation. The presence of RNA materials in the Tougaloo College Archives shows that Mississippians and Tougaloo students and faculty were active in the Black Power movement.
