Memo, CDGM Board, 1966

This memo delineated the restrictions that the Child Development Group of Mississipp (CDGM) faced as it sought refunding from the federal government in Fall 1966. It set out a plan for the new organization, Friends of the Children of Mississippi (FCM), designed to assist in strengthening CDGM and to help maintain the grassroots ties with both local community organizations and with the freedom struggle, which CDGM lost as it came under the influence of more conservative white leadership.
