Letter, Rev. Bernard Law, Rev. Duncan Gray, Rabbi Perry Nussbaum to Members of the Board of Trustees, Tougaloo College, 4 May 1964

In this May 4, 1964 letter, religious leaders in Mississippi spoke aganist the resignation of Tougaloo President Biettel. They implored the Tougaloo Trustees to make a politically unpopular decision and reconsider Beittel's firing. The letter was passed along to Providence businessman and Tougaloo Trustee, Irving Fain, with a note that, as these were close friends of Beittel's, they posed "no problem."
