Built by G. da Maiano? for Jacopo dei Pazzi 1458-69. Confiscated after the Pazzi conspiracy of 1478, bought after other owners by Senator Lorenzo di Carlo Strozzi (1539-1609) in 1594. B169 G-L 81 V. Proconsolo 10.
Houses bought by Antonio Ramirez de Montalvo a figure in the entourage of Eleonora di Toledo (court of Cosimo I) were joined together behind a single façade by Ammannati, completed 1568. The façade was frescoed after designs by Vasari. G-L 72 B. Albizzi 26.
Built by Michelozzo? for the Portinari family 1470s. Bought by Jacopo di Alamanno Salviati 1547 (a kinsman of Cosimo I) and enlarged by him during the 1570s. B224 G-L 69 V. del Corso 471.
After the Battle of Montemurlo Francesco Valori escaped to Rome but this house in Borgo degli Albizzi remained in the family. It was redecorated by Senator Baccio Valori (1535-1606) who added the marble portraits ("visacci") on the façade. The one over the entrance is Cosimo I with the inscription "Quia mihi mecaenas". Houses of the Pazzi on this site bought by Alessandro di Camillo Strozzi 1592. Building begun by Buontalenti in 1593, and later continued by other architects, but only first floors completed. G-L 70 V. Proconsolo 12.
