"Quarter: S. Giovanni, Parishes: S. Lorenzo, S. Maria Maggiore, Duomo, S. Maria in Campidoglio, S. Ruffilo, Streets: Canto alla Paglia, Piazza degli Agli, Piazza dell' Olio, Piazza S. Maria Maggiore, V dei Carnesecchi (V dei Cerretani {p}), V della Forca (V Zannetti). Square 35 had many households, many shops, many patricians, many households with servants, some households w/o surnames, and many households headed by widows. In 1599 Ferdinando I had the Giambologna sculptural group Hercules and the Centaur Nesso placed at the intersection of V. Cerretani and V. Rondinelli (in front of Pal. Carnesecchi). It was removed to the Loggia dei Lanzi in the 19th cent."
