    • Anc. Par. Ch. Benedictine nuns from before 1000. New porch by Nigetti 1626-32. Part of the church collapsed under renovation in 1783 and it was not rebuilt. [52 R 1551, 55 1632] B127 M/R 83 Paatz IV:629. Pza. S. Piero Only the porch remains.

  • 2 - Ospizio S. Tommaso Aquino

    • 1570 hospice for pilgrims, with a church. B204 Paatz V:248 Pass. 516 V. della Pergola 8.

  • 3 - Pal. Bellini, Giambologna

    • House given to sculptor Giambologna by Ferdinando I. Portrait bust of Ferdinando I. Limb. 100 B. Pinti 26.

  • 4 - Pal. Corboli

    • 16th cent? House of a family of ducal secretaries (Francesco Corboli and his son Bastiano). Has portrait bust of Ferdinando I. V. Matt. Palmieri 9.

  • 5 - Pal. degli Albizzi

    • The main palace of the Albizzi with remains of medieval tower. Renovated by Gherardo Silvani ca. 1625-34. G-L 74 B. Albizzi 12.

"Quarter: S. Giovanni, Parish: S. Piero Maggiore, Streets: Borgo degli Albizzi {p}, Borgo Pinti {p}, Canto alle Rondine, Piazza S. Piero Maggiore, V S. Giglio (V S. Egidio {p}), V dell Oriuolo {p}. Square 29 had a moderate number of households, some shops, some patricians, some households with servants, some households w/o surnames and some households headed by widows. The sculptor Giambologna lived in this square (B. Pinti)."
