  • 1 - Ponte Vecchio

    • 1345 on the site of earlier bridges here. The 1594 editon of the Buonsignori map has the notation "Ponte Vecchio Orefici (Goldsmiths)". In 1593 Ferdinando I expelled the butchers and other shops previously on the bridge and had goldsmiths move there, who still remain today, as more seemly for gentlemen using it to reach the Palazzo Pitti.   • 2 - Vasari Corridor

    • Connecting the Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti, built by Vasari for Cosimo I in 1565 for the marriage of Francesco I with Giovanna d' Austria. B46

  • 3 - S. Jacopo sopr Arno Par. Mon.

    • 11th cent. Par. Ch. Franciscans 1542-75; Scopertini from 1575. Convent renovated 17th century, new bell tower built by P.F. Silvani 1660. [10 R 1551, 14 1632] B74 M/R 52 Paatz II:385 B. S. Jacopo 34.

  • 4 - S. Felicita Par. Con.

    • Anc. Par. Ch. Benedictine nuns from before 1000. Vasari corridor attached to façade 1565; observation window into church 1589. New chapels by Cigoli and others 16-17th cent. Church renovated by Ruggieri in 1736-38. The parish church of the court. [30 R 1551, 49 1632]. B55 M/R 31 Paatz II:57 Pza S. Felicita.
