  • 1 - Stinche

    • The medieval prison. There were 110 prisoners, mostly debtors, here in 1632. The enclosed space south of the building was a reservoir of water used as a public wash house. B184 Pza Stinche No longer exists. Space now occupied by the Teatro Verdi.

  • 2 - S. Simone Par.

    • 12th cent. Par. Ch. Renovated by G. Silvani 17th cent. B186 Paatz V:105 Pza S. Simone.

  • 3 - Pal. Salviati-Borghese

    • Significant Salviati palace; renovated by G. Silvani in the 17th century. The present large structure was built over it by Camillo Borghese in the 1820s. G-L 84 V. Ghibellina 110.

  • 4 - Pal. Valori-Galli Tassi

    • Owned by Baccio Valori and confiscated from him after the Battle of Montemurlo 1537. Various owners 16th century, bought by the Galli-Tassi in 1623. G-L 83 V. Pandolfini 14.

Simone, V dei Pandolfini {p}, V del Palagio (V Ghibellina {p}), V della Vigna Vecchia, V delle Stinche (V Gius. Verdi), V Torcicoda. Square 38 had many households, some shops, many patricians, many households with servants, some households w/o surnames, and many households headed by widows. Dyers were likely here."
