Johnny Mae
The Blues Rockers performed in clubs and bars and made recordings during the golden age of Chicago blues, the early to mid-1950s. Their blues sound is typical of that time and place. The clever lyrics in "Johnny Mae" refer to some of the local blues musicians. For a biography and appreciation of vocalist/pianist Lazy Bill Lucas, please see Worlds of Music, 4th edition (Thomson Learning), chapter 4. [www.newtexts.com/newtexts/book.cfm?book_id=427]
