Tom Paulhus was very actively involved in the communities of both ACT-UP Rhode Island and AS220 in the late '80s. While living and working in studio space at AS220, he also strove to energize both the artistic and queer communities to rally for free expression and expanded rights, spearheading the Stravaganza shows and other queer-centric media and theatrical productions.
