Sherilyn Brown was born in Saugus, Massachusetts, and came to Providence in 1975 to join the Rhode Island Feminist Theater (RIFT). Brown helped make RIFT a national touring theater and was a vital part of the group until they disbanded around 1985 or 1986. Currently Brown works as the education director at the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
