Judith Swift

Judith Swift has been a professor of Communication Studies and Theatre at the University of Rhode Island since 1972. During her time in Rhode Island, she has written and developed scripts for over forty productions, and has directed hundreds of theatrical productions. She has directed for the Wickenden Gate, Trinity Rep, Ocean State Lyric Opera, Rites and Reason Theatre, and Theatre-by-the-Sea. In addition, she has done work at numerous theatre festivals in the United Kingdom. She is currently working with the University of Rhode Island Coastal Institute, using theatre to teach about issues of sustainability.
