Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth

Musical Artists and Members of the Talking Heads

Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz met at RISD in the early 1970s where they were both students. Chris and RISD-dropout David Byrne formed a garage-band called The Artistics when David returned to Providence after having completed just one year of art school; Chris played drums and David played guitar and sang lead vocals. Tina would later join The Artistics and The Talking Heads would be born, minus guitarist Jerry Harrison. The Talking Heads went on to become major players in the early '80s New Wave scene bustling up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and the group enjoyed a successful recording career until its 1992 breakup. Chris and Tina began recording as Tom Tom Club in 1981 and have had several hit singles including Wordy Rappinghood and Genius Of Love. They were still performing in 2004.
