Trinity Repertory Company
Peter Gerety was born and raised in Rhode Island. He grew up in Edgewood and eventually attended The University of Rhode Island. Gerety became interested in theater while spending his adolescent summers at the Provincetown Playhouse on Cape Cod with his sister Anne. He began working at the Charles Playhouse in Boston in 1962 before relocating to New York in 1963 where he worked on such notable productions as Othello, starring James Earl Jones. He returned in 1965 to Rhode Island when Adrian Hall invited him to become a member of the Trinity Repertory Company but left for Oregon in 1969 to act in a company with Anne. Peter returned once more to Providence in 1975 and spent another seventeen years at Trinity.
