The film enacts a charm scenario for bringing the fateman to his fated spouse. The formulas speak about the snake-dragon that will torment and steer the fateman toward the charmee. While reciting them, the old charm-sayer rapidly moves the hem of her skirt so as to evoke the movement of the snake-dragon as well as the obsessive erotic call of the young woman. It is believed that, as a result, the fateman is brought flying through the air to the one on whose behalf the charm is performed. Used by permission of Dr. Radu Răutu.
