  • The main wool cloth drying and stretching house of the Arte della Lana. B190 Lungarno. No longer exists.

  • 2 - Case degli Alberti
  • The Alberti family had houses here; Giovan Vincenzo degli Alberti (1715-88) joined them into a palace behind a single façade; enlarged in the 19th century. G-L 95 V. dei Benci 1.

  • 3 - Pal. Busini-Bardi
  • Built by Brunelleschi for the Busini ca. 1430, sold to the Bardi 1483 who completed it. Count Giovanni dei Bardi di Vernio (1534-1612) founded the Camerata dei Bardi which met in this house and experimented with the first operas. B199 G-L 94 V. dei Benci 5.

Simone, Streets: Ciasso Bagnesi (V Mosca), Lungarno, Piazza d'Arno (Pza Mentana), V da Cto degli Alberti a Pza del Grano (V dei Neri {p}), V dei Saponai (V Vagellai), V del Guanto. Square 61 had a moderate number of households, some shops, some patricians, some households with servants, some households w/o surnames and few households headed by widows. Dyers were likely here."
