    • ca. 1250 Servite brothers. Mother house of Servite Order. Housed a venerated image of the Virgin Mary. New porch by Caccini 1599-1601 (not yet shown on the map) and further renovations 17th cent. [72 R 1551, 105 1632] B210 (Sq. 10) M/R 5 Paatz I:62 Pza SS Annunziata.

  • 3 - Crocetta Con.

    • 1511/19 Dominican nuns; renovated by G. Parigi 1621 with corridor and arch leading to SS. Annunziata. [42 R 1551, 54 1632]. M/R 26 Paatz I:702 V. Laura 48.

  • 4 - Sped. degli Innocenti

    • 1419 by the Arte della Seta. Brunelleschi. The main hospital for abandoned children. Absorbed some other hospitals of the same sort 16th cent. [1551 ca. 1200 I, 1162 1632) B78 Paatz II:442 Pass. 685 Pza. SS Annunziata.

"Quarter: S. Giovanni, Parish: S. Michele Visdomini, Streets: V della Colonna {p}, V della Crocetta (V Laura {p}), V S. Sebastiano (V. Gino Capponi {p}). Square 11 had few households, few shops, few patricians, some households with servants, few households w/o surnames and few widows. In 1551 Benvenuto Cellini lived in this square (V Laura)."
