Family and Friends -- Half-brother, Johann Ernst Kulmus -- Biography

Luise Kulmus's older half-brother Johann Ernst (1708-1769) taught her the English he learned from his tutor, John Tompson. He studied medicine in Leipzig (1730-1732), where he facilitated communications between Gottsched and his family in Danzig. Later he practiced medicine in Danzig. In 1739 he married Eleonor Davidson (1717-1784).
