Danzigers enjoyed fresh fish frequently. They also had abundant grain. Fruits and vegetables were farmed in the Danzig Werder, frequently on land reclaimed from the sea by Dutch/Mennonite settlers. No doubt some of the French wines imported for Polish nobility stayed in Danzig. However, the beer brewers grew very wealthy.
