  • Computing and Information Services is pleased to sponsor the STG Faculty Grants Program. This program seeks to encourage innovative research at the intersection of information technology and the academic disciplines, exploring new modes of analysis, creation, and dissemination in which technology plays a significant role. We welcome applications from Brown University faculty in the humanities and related disciplines. STG also offers one-on-one consulting prior to the application deadline to help applicants focus the proposal and make sure its scope is realistic and in keeping with the program's goals.

Each grant provides staff and student time to design and implement the project, as well as occasional nominal production or data costs. We welcome new projects, and have worked with faculty to develop ideas into projects. STG faculty grants can also be used to contribute additional work to projects that are already underway, or are funded by from other sources.

The Call for Proposals provides detailed information on the faculty grants application process and schedule. Deadlines for proposals are in the spring semester of each year.

STG also offers informal consulting and advice on information technology, digital publishing, and digital research tools. To make an appointment, or to learn more about our faculty grants program, please contact us at STG_info@brown.edu or 401-863-7231.
