Digital Literature Workshop | Electronic Cabaret | A Night at the Cybertexts

Calls (closed): for Papers | for Art and Performance

By Plane:

International visitors: You can either fly directly to Logan Airport in Boston, or, if your flight arrives at Newark or JFK, book a connecting flight to Providence.

Bonanza Bus runs an hourly bus service between Logan Airport and Providence (see their fares and schedules page). When you arrive in Providence (Kennedy Plaza), you can catch a cab to Brown - which sits a half mile east, atop College Hill.

Domestic visitors: Providence is a competitive destination, so you can often find good fares to T. F. Green Airport, especially if you are coming from a city served by Southwest Airlines. Otherwise, fly into Boston and take the bus as described above.

T. F. Green Airport (Warwick, just outside of Providence) has recently been expanded and renovated. Among the airlines flying into Green are:

American Airlines

800-433-7300

Continental Airlines

800-525-0280

Delta Airlines

800-221-1212

Northwest Airlines

800-225-2525

Southwest Airlines

800-435-9792

United Airlines

800-241-6522

US Airways (US Air)

800-428-4322

From T. F. Green you can take the Airport Shuttle to downtown hotels or to Brown. It leaves every hour on the hour, 5AM to 11PM and costs $9. The taxi ride to Brown costs about $25, a bit more to the Comfort Inn.

By Train:

Providence is on the Boston-Washington Amtrak line. You can also take a commuter train from Boston to Providence. Trains leave from South Station in Boston, which is also the location of the Bonanza Bus terminal (see above).

By Car:

At the light at the end of the exit ramp, turn left under the overpass onto Wickenden and go to the second light (Brook Street). Turn left onto Brook Street and proceed north for six blocks. Take a left onto Power Street, and after one block a right onto Thayer. The Graduate Center complex is on your left, between Power and Charlesfield Streets. To get to the Piano lounge, take the entrance to the Graduate Center closest to Charlesfield. The door to the lounge is at the bottom of the spiral staircase.

From the south (Connecticut) - Take route 95 north to 195 East. Take exit 2, and proceed as above (from "exit 2 - Wickenden Street").

From the east (Fall River) - Take 195 west to exit 3. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Gano Street. Go four blocks north to Power Street. Take a left onto Power Street, and head west six blocks to Thayer Street. Take a right onto Thayer - the Graduate Center Complex is on your left (see directions to the Piano lounge above).
